About this repair

Slow, unstable, or unavailable Wi-Fi can interrupt browsing, streaming, video calls, remote work, and access to online services. Heartland Computer provides professional laptop Wi-Fi diagnosis, configuration, repair, and wireless-adapter replacement services in Omaha and Council Bluffs.

Our technicians determine whether the problem is caused by the laptop, wireless adapter, antenna cables, drivers, operating-system settings, router, internet service, or another network component. After completing the diagnosis, we explain our findings and provide an estimated repair cost before proceeding with additional work.

Our Wi-Fi evaluation may include:

Wireless-adapter detection and status checks
Wi-Fi signal and connection testing
Driver inspection and reinstallation
Operating-system network-setting review
Airplane-mode and wireless-switch testing
IP address, DNS, and network-configuration checks
Testing on more than one wireless network when available
Router and internet-connection isolation testing
Wireless-adapter power-management review
Antenna-wire and connector inspection
Bluetooth testing on combination wireless cards
BIOS, UEFI, and firmware evaluation
Malware and security-software inspection when appropriate
Physical inspection for impact or liquid damage

Once the cause has been identified, we may recommend correcting network settings, reinstalling drivers, reconnecting an antenna, replacing the wireless adapter, or troubleshooting the router or internet service.
