About this repair
A laptop trackpad that jumps, freezes, double-clicks, selects items unexpectedly, or fails to respond can make everyday tasks frustrating. Heartland Computer provides professional laptop trackpad and touchpad diagnosis, repair, and replacement services in Omaha and Council Bluffs.
Our technicians inspect the trackpad and related components to determine whether the problem is caused by hardware damage, software settings, a loose internal connection, liquid exposure, or another issue. After completing the diagnosis, we explain the available repair options and provide an estimated cost before proceeding with additional work.
We can diagnose many trackpad and touchpad issues, including:
- Cursor moves, jumps, or drifts unexpectedly
- Trackpad responds slowly or freezes
- Single clicks register as double-clicks
- Left-click or right-click does not work
- Physical click feels stuck, loose, or uneven
- Tap-to-click does not respond
- Scrolling and gestures stop working
- Trackpad works only intermittently
- Trackpad is not detected by the operating system
- Cursor moves without touching the trackpad
- Trackpad surface is cracked or physically damaged
- Trackpad becomes raised or difficult to press
- Problems begin after a software or driver update
- Trackpad stops working after liquid exposure
- External mouse works, but the built-in trackpad does not
